Bookkeeper

Location: Alnwick

KCR Solutions are assisting our client, based in Alnwick in their search for a Part Time Bookkeeper for a temporary Maternity Cover . They require an experienced individual who can process the day-to-day transactions, as well as assisting with month-end procedures. The working pattern for this role is flexible and, after on-boarding and training is complete, hybrid working qualifies.

The Role:

  • Processing purchase invoices
  • Raising and processing sales invoices and updating in-house systems
  • Processing payments
  • Processing sales receipts and updating in-house systems
  • Checking and processing expense claims
  • Checking and processing business credit card statements
  • Preparing and processing month end journals
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Preparing monthly payroll information and sending to accountants
  • Organising and distributing currency, checking returned against expenses and balancing currency held spreadsheet

The Person
You will have a minimum of two years in a bookkeeping / financial role. You will also be an enthusiastic self-starter with strong communication and organisational skills. Our client is also looking for someone who has excellent written and oral communication skills, strong IT skills with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word. You will also have excellent attention to detail. Ideally you will have experience of Sage Accounting software. (Although full training will be provided).

The hours are 22.5 hours (min) – 30 hours (max)
Hourly rate: £14-15 per hour
