Job Description

KCR Solutions are currently looking to recruit a Credit Control Team Leader for our fantastic client based in Newcastle.

Salary – £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities

  1. Management of all debts across the Sales Ledger, debt collection, query management, new account opening and credit reporting
  2. Supervising and mentoring the team of Credit Controllers on a day to day basis
  3. Manage employee performance, providing learning and development opportunities for the Credit Control Team
  4. Deputise in the absence of the Credit Control Manager
  5. Assessing ‘Potential new customers’ as to whether or not to open a credit account and on opening an account assigning the appropriate credit/trading levels
  6. Regular review and resolution (at least weekly) of the Sales Ledger overtrading Report, escalation of problem accounts to Credit Control Manager
  7. Conducting Monthly Sales Ledger reviews with Credit Control staff and escalate any issues arising to the Credit Control Manager
  8. Constant housekeeping of all Sales Ledger Accounts, including review of credit limits, reconciliation and resolution of any unallocated payments/credit notes and ensuring insurance details are obtained and validated when required
  9. Liaising with internal staff and customers to address queries and collection issues in a timely manner
  10. Instigating and following up on all legal procedures, escalation of problem accounts to Credit Control Manager
  11. Managing the collection process for a specific ledger of Key/Major customer accounts
  12. Communicating expectations to the Credit Control Team set by the Credit Control Manager
  13. Regular review of the allocation of accounts to Credit Control Team
  14. Evaluation of current processes to identify improvements, promotes a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  15. Maintains and updated knowledge of current legislation and best practice at all times
  16. Complying with all Company procedures including Health & Safety procedures and Directives and Company P.P.E requirements
  17. Maintaining a work area that is tidy and free from hazards
  18. Reporting any accidents (person, property or vehicles) via the accident/Incident Report system
  19. Other ad-hoc duties at the request of the Financial Controller, the Credit Control Manager or any Director.

Requirements

  1. Experience of working in a Credit Control role
  2. Experience of working in a staff management/supervision role
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  4. High competency in the use of Microsoft Excel
