Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to work for this successful company in Newcastle on a Temporary Basis.

The successful candidate will earn between £8.50 to £9.50 p/h depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and acquisitions processing
  2. Purchase ledger processing, maintenance of direct debits and preparation of scheduled payments
  3. Reconciliation of bank accounts to General Ledger
  4. Assisting in credit control for the business including chasing debts, maintenance of Direct Debits and other forms of remittance
  5. Raising payments via online banking system
  6. Maintenance of the supplier & customer accounts
  7. Provide administrative support to accounts assistants, accountants and finance director
  8. Collation and reconciliation of management expenses
  9. Other financial duties as required
  10. General administration & filing
  11. Scanning documents and files
  12. Post duties as required
  13. Banking of cheques
  14. Providing telephone cover as required
  15. Administration of finances’ external storage system
  16. Other administrative duties as required.

Person Spec:

  1. Excellent attention to detail
  2. Strong numerical skills
  3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  4. Excellent written and communication skills
  5. Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  6. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  7. Previous bank reconciliation, credit control and purchase ledger experience desirable but not essential
