Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced and versatile Finance Manager for our client based in Gateshead, turnover approx. £6m.   The position will report to the Managing Director.  It is important that you can offer a ‘hands on’ approach and possess strong communication skills.


Salary – £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience


The role will involve the following:-


  1. Production of monthly management accounts for 3 companies within the group, combined turnover of 6m
  2. Year end procedures and statutory reporting
  3. Budget preparation
  4. Cashflow forecasting and management
  5. Balance sheet reconciliations
  6. Accruals and prepayments
  7. Journal preparation
  8. Invoice discount management
  9. Foreign currency transactions
  10. Intercompany transactions
  11. Supervision of credit control
  12. Payment of suppliers
  13. VAT returns
  14. P11d’s
  15. Liaison with foreign suppliers
  16. Finance requirements, hire purchase, leasing
  17. Organisation of shipments and transport
  18. Liaising with both bank manager and invoice discount manager
  19. Supervision of one member of staff
  20. Systems used: Sage 50 and payroll


As an individual you will either be a fully qualified Accountant or qualified by experience. It would be advantageous to have experience of invoice discounting and also multi site experience. You will liaise with varying line manager across the business and also suppliers therefore it is essential that you have strong communication skills and have a positive attitude/personality.
