Financial Controller

Salary: £50000 - £55000

Location: Redcar

KCR solutions are delighted to be recruiting a Financial Controller for an excellent retail business in Redcar. Reporting to the General Manager you will be a qualified accountant with good knowledge of Excel. Main responsibilities will include:

• Produce monthly management accounts.
• Preparation of weekly and month end forecasts, forecast to actual reconciliation carried out at month end.
• Preparation and management of statutory audit to include preparation of the year end audit and tax packs, including supporting schedules.
• Preparation of annual budgets.
• Manage, lead and coach the accounting teams.
• Ensure Sales, Purchase and Nominal ledgers are maintained efficiently and accurately by the relevant staff.
• Take overall responsibility for overdue debt collection including credit control/debtor meetings.
• Ensure suppliers are paid within agreed terms.
• Timely completions of VAT returns, ensuring all VAT transactions are correctly recorded.
• Ensure that bank accounts are fully reconciled on a regular basis.
• Ensure stock checks are completed accurately every 6 months.
• Ensure consistency between management accounts and forecasts.
• Maintain Fixed Asset register.
• Preparation and presentation of monthly business/accounts reviews.
• Ad hoc duties as requested.
