Job Description

KCR Solutions are currently recruiting a Payroller for a 3 month contract in Gateshead to start immediately! Salary £18,000 to £20,000 Key Responsibilities 

  1. Timesheet Input
  2. Monthly payroll
  3. Dealing with SSP, SMP calculations
  4. Dealing with holiday pay
  5. Ensure all statutory deductions are applied correctly
  6. Process overtime and any other ad hoc payments for employees
  7. Administer sick notes and keep accurate records, calculate sick pay
  8. Process leavers and staff changes
  9. Deal with payroll queries in a timely manner
  10. Dealing with telephone queries in relation to payroll
  11. Ensuring accurate paper documents to support payroll calculation
  12. Carry out payroll administration relating to employee activity i.e. new starters, leavers, changes to changes to terms and conditions of employment and other personal data changes
  13. Ensure data on the payroll system is accurate and as up to date as possible
  14. Ensure that all work is accurate and produced in a timely manner in line with agreed procedures and checking/authorisation levels
  15. Additional payroll related tasks and ad hoc projects

Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience of working in a busy payroll department
  2. Experience of Pension auto enrolment
  3. An understanding of current issues affecting payroll and ability to keep up to date with changing legislation
  4. Ability to deal accurately with complex calculations
  5. Good IT skills including use of Excel Spreadsheets and Sage
