Job Description

KCR Solutions are looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk for our successful client in Sunderland. This is a newly created role due to the relocation of the finance function and is within the Engineering sector. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career in finance. Their will be study support and career progression for the right candidate.

The salary is between £18,000 – £20,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Code and post purchase invoices
  2. Ensure all relevant invoices are included in bi-monthly/monthly payment runs
  3. Manage the payables email inbox and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  4. Set up BACS and cheque payments to suppliers
  5. Assistance with daily bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
  6. Preparation of daily banking reports
  7. Issuing and reconciliation of petty cash
  8. Posting and reconciliation of credit card statements
  9. Assistance with daily bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
  10. Checking and approving employee expense claims
  11. Assist with timesheet maintenance
  12. Ensuring compliance of Grants of Authority
  13. Dealing with all supplier queries
  14. Dealing with all employee related queries with regards to expense payments
  15. Checking purchase ledger and expense ledger batches and liaising with staff in regards to accuracy of postings
  16. Ad-hoc tasks including filing

Knowledge & Experience

  1. Studying towards AAT or equivalent
  2. A minimum of 2 years accounting experience in a similar role
  3. Knowledge of working with ERP system – not essential but preferred

Hours 8.00-4.30 Mon – Thrs / 8.00-15.00 Friday (hours can be flexible)
