Job Description

We are assisting our client re their search for a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant. The right candidate must be friendly and approachable, hardworking and be willing to work as part of a team. If successful, you’ll be working in their brand new office based on the outskirts of Newcastle.

Duties will include:

  • Inputting purchase invoices and credit notes into Sage Line 50 ensuring department codes are used
  • Ensuring all invoices are authorised before they’re inputted
  • Reconciling supplier statements to Sage
  • Paying suppliers and monitoring credit limits
  • Dealing with payment queries from suppliers
  • Checking and dealing with company utility accounts
  • Providing remittance notes to suppliers
  • Administering petty cash
  • Processing company credit card statements and monitor credit limits
  • Filing and departmental administration as required
  • Providing assistance to the Accounts Manager as and when required
  • Assisting with Sales Ledger duties as required
  • Taking responsibility or helping out with other reasonable duties in the accounts department

Experience and skills required:

  • Articulate with excellent communication skills
  • Experience of using Sage Line 50 is Essential
  • Knowledge of intercompany transactions would be advantageous
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Impeccable time management and organisational skills
  • Possession of a polite and friendly telephone manner
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office
  • At least one year’s experience in a similar role

This is a full-time position. The working hours will be 9.00am – 6pm Monday – Friday.
